Nev and I set off on another adventure… this time (diving) in Borneo… I have to admit I was a bit dubious about this trip… My memories of Borneo where pretty gloomy, it wasn’t so much the place as the people and the huge cultural difference… I guess matters were not helped by the fact that I was a lone Asian female in a Muslim country and although expected to, couldn’t speak the language!
This time however there was no mistaking I was a tourist! Traveling in style with a huge white guy and staying in hotels as opposed to (excuse me for being so blunt) $%!t holes!
Borneo was just as beautiful as I remember it… wet… but beautiful none the less.
We spent our first night in KK and then headed off to Sandakan the following day .
The journey to Sandakan has got to have been an adventure in itself… after spending a few hours at the airport, 2 delays, a cancellation, a change of flight and then more waiting, we were told that our original flight had finally arrived… as we were traveling light and seemed to be the only passengers booked onto that flight with hang luggage we were quickly ushered onto the completely empty plane! We took our private jet across the country to the jungles of Easter Sabha to visit the famous Sipilok Orangutan Sanctuary and also the amazing Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary…. It was amazing to see these creatures in their natural habitats…. Waiting for them to arrive at feeding time and trying to spot the multitude of little red faces hiding in the trees.
Our next stop was Tawau…… this being the real reason for our visit… Sipidan! One of the top 10 dive sites in the world.. and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint! If it’s turtles and sharks (not to mention the odd sea snake) that you are after, this is the place for you. It was just as beautiful and breathtaking as I remembered… I was stoked that Nev was able to experience it for himself! Sipdan Water Village was stunning (with a ‘interesting’ i.e. strange, mix of local and foreign inhabitants) and I was glad that the experienced was not tarnished by the fact that we would have to stay in Sempora!
Anyway enough ranting for now…
Next stop Thailand!

Good Morning Vietnam!
And trust me… it was morning… around 4am on Saturday when we set of Ho Chi Min City, aka Saigon…
This weekend I ticked off another location of places that I have always wanted to visit, and one that I missed on my first time round….
I didn’t really know what to expect from Vietnam… it’s strange ‘cos living in Singapore really dilutes your image of the ‘real’ Asia…. Singapore is so developed and commercial, sometimes it’s easy to forget that you are Asia at all, and surrounded by most of the worlds developing countries… It’s shocking to take a bus or boat across the boarder into Malaysia and see the difference in lifestyle, culture, infrastructure etc etc.
Anyway I’m rambling… Vietnam was great… it’s been a while since I visited somewhere a bit…. Um… well, ghetto I guess. The people were sweet and friendly, the food was great that the roads were scary.. what more could a girl ask for… lol?!
The adventure began at the airport from the crazy visa lady to the dicing with death cab ride to the hotel… you should have seen this thing… as my man said ‘It was worse from the inside than out… and that’s what was most worrying’… Anyway we finally made it to the hotel… a masterpiece in the hustle and bustle of the smoky city center located on the edge of the Saigon River.
The city is pretty small and once we had our bearings we managed to take in pretty much all the major points of interest in the first day… walking around the war museum was pretty moving, it helped me to understand why there are sooo many physically challenged people in Vietnam… it’s quite heart renching… another reason probably steams from it being impossible to cross a road, or pavement in fact without having two pairs of eyes… Honestly it was a team effort to be able to get across the street, not just some of them…. ALL of them! I’m proud to say after a few near misses (which is all it takes) we had it nailed :o)
It’s a shame we didn’t have more time to explore the rest of the country but from what I did get to experience I really liked Vietnam, most of all the people from the smiley coconut sellers to random’s we asked for assistance who’d bend over backwards to help.
Hopefully I’ll get to go again soon but in the mean time I have a great weekend to store in my memory banks.
Cheers

Life is a little crazy at the moment, but I am sure that that will not surprise you in the least.
I have as always been globetrotting. Now that I am living in Singapore, or as I like to call it ‘The Gateway to Asia’ I am traveling more than ever, trying to cram in as much of the continent as possible before I leave for pastures new.
It’s kind of exciting being her again, the prospect of hanging out with some old faces.. not to mention the new.
I’ve been working my pants off… covering 3 different time zones takes it out of you, you know! Although it can get stressful sometime, I can’t really complain, I get to travel with my job and it’s allowed me to travel to the other side of the world. I couldn’t be happier to be honest. Sure I miss London and that is where home will always be, but my life in Asia is great and lets face it, London ain’t going anywhere. Besides my mum came over to visit a few weeks ago and that certainly banished any feelings of homesickness that may have been rearing their head.
So apart from that not much else has been going on…
I’ve made some good friends, dive and travel as much as possible… work hard and play hard.
Just made a little trip across to Oz for a good old fashioned Ozzy wedding.. it was messy to say the least, messy but great… It was the wedding of a girl I hitch hiked with when I was in Oz last time believe it or not, managed to do a whistle stop tour catching up with as many people from the first time round as possible… Hangin’ out with the Cooparoo gang in Brizzy has got to have been one of the most bazaar experiences on the trip … lol.
In between India (for work) and planning my next trip I haven’t really had time to do much else… Oh except…
I’m trying to get fit and have started this health fad but I’m not sure how long that will last especially when I spend 50% of the time in pain, recovering from whatever crazy fitness activity I have decided I will get into ‘this week’…. None of them have been too expensive so far…. But let’s face it I’ve only just began… I could do that typical boy thing where I decide to take up golf… buy thousands worth of equipment and give them pride of place in the cupboard under the stairs…. Let’s see what happens.
Oh and how can I not mention the first ever Singapore Night F1 race! It was awesome…. My fella works for Shell so we had track side views with too much alcohol and not enough food ;o). Not sure if you guys caught it, but it was eventful to say the least!
What else have I been up to… time jus seems to be whizzing past??? I can’t believe I’ve been in Singapore for 5 months! I panic cos I feel I’m running out of time here to see things, I need to make sure that I don’t drag my heals… you know how these things happen in old age… ;o)
Anyway for those of you who are still traveling… keep crusading… and for those of you who aren’t… keep the dream alive I guess … and good luck.
I’ll try and write again soon…
Love as always

Pain in the ....
Hey Campers…
I am loving life right now, and it’s loving me!!!
Things are going grate in Singapore, unfortunately right now though, I am not there. I just flew into India for work again, but hopefully this time only for a week.
As usual I have been doing the traveling thing India, Malaysia, Thailand…. Well, that’s to come and Oz towards the end of the year, save that and drinking and partying and making new friends, not to mention house making… yeah that’s right,…. Me making home, things have been pretty….. um,….. Steady I guess.
Have been in Singapore for just over a month and although I miss London and my friends, we, me and my fella, have had soooo many visitors, it’s been pretty impossible to feel home sick.
We haven’t really done much in the way of sights in Singapore, to tell you the truth we really didn’t think there were that many touristy attractions, but the more we get to know the place, the more we seem to realize that we were wrong.
Any how from fear of falling into the tourist trap, we have now turned our attentions to seeing more of Southeast Asia than of Singapore itself… Off on a live-a-board dive trip in a couple of weeks … somewhere in Malaysia, can’t wait haven’t been diving in ages… Hopefully I will have fully recovered from the most excruciating massage that I have EVER had in my whole life by then… For those of whom ever get curious… I definitely advise AGAINST little Asian ladies offering Balinese massages that will leave you bruised from shoulder to ass! :o/
Hope all is well with you…

Hasta la vista
Hey campers…
I’m off again…
Yeah yeah I know, it seems like I only just got back, but it has actually been a whole year since I set foot back on British soil, and those feet were certainly beginning to get itchy.
It’s time to move on to pastures new… Asia is calling me and I feel I must answer… Singapore to be more precise.
I’ve managed to wangle a transfer and should be there for about 15months, that is if my visa gets accepted, otherwise I’ll be back in 3 weeks with my tail between my legs!
Anyhow… I’m actually leaving tonight! My transfer only came through a couple of weeks ago, and since then things have been moving pretty fast.
If you guys find yourselves in Asia, be sure to look me up. I am sure I will appreciate seeing a familiar face, besides Singapore airport is a major transit point in Asia, so you may find yourself there, even if you didn’t expect it!
I’ll do my best to keep the blogg up to date, but remember you can email me at sity@hotmail.com, if you need to get in touch.
I’ll catch up with you guys soon.
From London… Over and Out!

All work, work, work...... work???
There is nothing more I would like to say than ‘life is boring and there isn’t much going on at all’, but as you have probably guessed from my lengthy silence, this has NOT , been the case!
In between work, holidays, work, football, work, concerts, work, babies (not mine), work, more holidays and even more work, work, work life has been craaaaazzzzzyyy!
I can’t complain though, I am doing heaps of travelling and am currently working on a project out in India. I know it sound all glitzy, but all this travelling can tire a girl out…. I think I am ready for another holiday, lol ;o)
So in summary things are going quite well, my family is still on the ever increasingly futile quest to find me a suitor :o/ ??? Work is going well, but super busy so I’m puttin’ load’s of extra hours in, that’s not to say that I haven’t had the chance to let my hair down.
One of the highlights has to be my final week in London before I left for India…
Hanging with Kasey, Brett & Eddies birthday bash, My sisters random birthday lunch and Toby’s with Mike.
Oh and not to mention an awesome week in the Dominican Republic with Nev.
Lowlights were definitely the Rabies shots for India… yeah, yeah, I’ve already heard all the jokes so enough of that ;o)
I must take the opportunity to apologise to all of those whom I have neglected over the past couple of months….
Foster folks, Emma, Craig & Chloe-Leigh as well as my mates, I’ll use work as my main excuse, but there are soooo many more. I’d like to think that things will calm down over the up and coming months, but it look’s like I will be transferred out to Singapore for work for a while… probably about a year, so watch this space, and if you ever find yourself out in that neck of the woods, be sure to look me up. Singapore centre is only about a 20min drive from the airport, so no excuses!
Ok so I hope you are all safe and well, sorry again for not having been in touch for a while, will try not to be sooo much of a slacker in the future.
From Delhi…

Same old, same old
So what have I been up to… Globetrotting as much as possible to be honest… Let me see, the last time I wrote I’d just come back form Amsterdam after which I left for Germany with Ben to take in the sights, sounds and smells of Colognes world famous Christmas Markets. I couldn’t believe that such a small city could be home to such a big attraction. It was great... Didn’t actually buy anything… except lots of mulled wine … whoops ;o)
Christmas was a peaceful affair, hanging out with the usual crowd in Walton (shout out to Huck) and dinner with the Kennedy’s (Thanx Mike), and New Years was as crazy as ever.
I saw in the New Year with a trip away to Malta and then Iceland, weather wise, from one extreme to another. Both trips were great, but a word of warning to anyone planning to go to Iceland… Damn it’s expensive.. TRUST ME, when I say this… We’re talking almost 8 GBP for a beer, but it’s definitely worth it for a few days, it’s beautiful… As always I’ll get some photos when I have a bit more time on my hands.
Work is going well, but I never seem to have enough going on to stop me from thinking about traveling again.
There is the possibility that I am going to be sent out to India for a few months for work so that my keep the animal at bay for a while, but I guess we will have to wait and see.
Apart from that and throwing random coconuts into the Thames (trust me you don’t want to know), I haven’t really been up to much worth writing about… Life in London is pretty bog standard… I love this City and the people in it, but in terms of writing something interesting all I can say is bars, drinks, food, clubs. Etc, etc, etc…. ;o)
What have you guys been up?
Till the next installment…
